Motherhood, Work and the Real Estate Business: Doing it All

Why It’s Important for You to do All Three

I want to get at least 500 women actively working and making money in the real estate business over the course of the next year. Why? Because I believe GIC Deal Finders presents women with the perfect opportunity to increase their earning power without sacrificing their family lives. I want you to have it all and I believe, wholeheartedly, that it’s possible for you to have it all.

A Few Facts About Women Working in America

There’s no doubt about it: Women work hard, in many case, you work harder than men. There was a meme circulating on one of the social platforms last year that said something to the effect that women do 66% of the world’s work, produce 50% of the world’s food supply but only own 1% of the world’s property. Now, I’m not sure how anyone was able to derive these figures. But honestly, it would not surprise me one bit to learn they are accurate. Here’s why:

  • On average, American women earn 77 cents for every dollar a man makes. This is assuming the woman has a comparable skill set, education and performs the same job.
  • In this same scenario, an African American woman would earn around 69 cents for every dollar a man makes and a Latina woman would earn just 58 cents for every dollar a man makes, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
  • At the same time, women represent 60% of full-time minimum wage workers. (National Women’s Law Center)
  • More than a third of new mothers are unmarried at the time they give birth. (Washington Post)
  • Four in ten U.S. households with children under the age of 18 now include a woman as the primary breadwinner. (Pew Research)
  • There are 7.8 million women-owned businesses in the U.S. (National Women’s Business Council)

That’s a lot for any woman to take on and the battle is ongoing. While men tend to think more highly of themselves and their professional value than their skill set warrants, women do just the opposite. Women habitually undercut their own professional value and are far more likely than men to accept employment contract terms without negotiating.

How This Program Helps Women Have it All

I bring all of this to your attention because I designed this program to help people acquire wealth. Across multiple industries, women can find themselves at a distinct disadvantage, always trailing behind their male counterparts. But that’s simply not the case in the real estate business.

In the beginning, you may have to carve out small chunks of time throughout your day to put toward building your real estate business. That’s okay. Do as much as you can as frequently as you can do it. As you get better at identifying properties that are good candidates for our program, you’ll find you spot vacant properties more quickly. The work will become easier.

As your earnings increase, you may get to the point where you are earning more as a Property Hunter than you are working your 9 to 5. At that point, you may choose to cut back your hours at your traditional job or transition to finding leads and working your real estate business on a full-time basis.

At the end of the day, this program does nothing if it doesn’t provide you with more options. Isn’t that all any of us want? A better set of options. As you see more success, you give yourself a chance to pass this skill set on to your kids so that they too have more options.

Our GIC Deal Finders learn what many women working traditional 9 to 5 jobs never get to learn – that you can put a value on your own time so that you may derive the maximum value for it.
