Hey, I'm New Here....

Being a relatively new mom, I can't help but think about all of the newborn baby clothes that often say "I'm new here" on the front and find that saying particularly relevant to this member blog! I've been a member of BP for a little while now and just found this whole Member Blog area and I'm so excited.

A bit about me, my husband and I are real estate investors who focus solely on buy and hold properties.  We realized a couple of years ago that investing in rental property for both our financial future and our present day life seemed like a good road to take.  Earning positive cash flow each month and knowing that we are building equity and a financial portfolio makes us sleep better at night.

In just a few short years, we've found great success in the couple of properties that we have bought, earning anywhere between 20-25% ROI and are eager to continue building our rental portfolio.

My goal of this blog is to share with rookie rental property investors what I've learned along the way so far.  When we started out I knew ABSOLUTELY NOTHING about real estate, investing, finances, etc.  I was a young girl from a rural western PA town who grew up among a family of teachers and knew nothing about the opportunity in real estate.  Fast forward just a few years and I feel like I've learned soooo much.  By no means do I know everything, or even close to that.  But I want to share with those starting out who feel like I felt when I started, that it isn't so bad and investing in rental property is really not that scary!

Happy Investing!

  4. Hello Emily,

After reading your post I identified myself with you a lot. I am totally new to real estate and I plan on buying and holding. I have not yet purchased my first home but I plan on buying a duplex renting one unit and living in the other.  I hope to read more of your post :)

  5. Thanks @Charles Kuchlenz  Welcome to you as well! Hopefully we will be able to share great tips!

  6. Hi Emily, I am new to the blog as well, pretty green on REI too, but I hope to share the information that I learn along the way.  I look forward to reading more from you.
