Should Investing be Hard Work?

I went to a local note  group last week, and then posted about my experience in Bigger Pockets.  Got a lot of great responses on the forum.  But the one thing that struck me about note investing, and about the responses I got back from most commenters on the forum, is that Real Estate investing is hard work.  I've never thought that until I got into the notes.  I find evaluating cash flow, price, and quality of a property is easy.  The numbers make investing so simple.  The calculators on BP make investing decisions quite easy.  I have found that complexity may give a great angle and return, but the limits of time make those angles unattractive to me.  I'd rather it be as easy as possible.
