Removing carpet? Save your knees!
If you're like me, you're often forgetting all the things you need to bring to a job site. The one thing I always overlook is knee protection. I might look like a young man, but my cracking bones tell me otherwise.
So what is a forgetful handyman to do? Improvise!
I make these knee savers out of the carpet underpadding every time I'm removing carpet and putting in wood flooring - something I do pretty often.
Just roll up the old underpadding and tie is up with some string.
I hope this tip saves some sore knees!

Knee pads are standard in the tool box for any turn around for me! That, and oddly, another interesting staple: baby wipes (to clean paint, caulk, etc)...
I like your DIY knee pads and focus on the practical aspects of real estate...Yours are innovative ones but they make some nice ones for household, gardening, construction, and even sports that you may like, too (not that expensive). Also, love a cut square (2' x2') of the light camping backpack ridge rest type pads for getting under sinks or any long time on a floor...even cushioning counters and floors..
