Getting a lead from my first failed negotiation

You never know what a lead can turn into. I was negotiating for the first time with a "semi-motivated" seller who was moving and needed to sell his house. Ended up not taking my offer but he referred me to a run down house 2 blocks down his street selling at almost half the price of his. I made sure that even though our deal did not materialize, that we were still in good terms and even offered to refer him to my realtor who may be better than the current one he has...it always pays to be nice to people. I'm checking it out tonight, hopefully the sellers are motivated so I can get it under contract....keeping my fingers crossed!

  1. Youve got to look for a lead everywhere

  2. It's amazing where important leads can come from. I once got a lead from someone who worked for the city in property assessment because she saw all of our property tax appeals and realized we bought a lot of properties.

    1. I agree, especially for someone like me looking for their first deal, any way you can get a lead...you do everything to get it! always ask people you meet if they know someone who knows someone selling their house...you never know!
