Six of the Most Amazing Television Home Improvement Renovations
Do you love tuning in to HGTV shows to watch amazing home improvement renovations? There are many, so there is never a lack of such shows on HGTV, DIY Network, and other television stations that show home improvement renovations.
Here we will show you six of the most amazing television home improvement renovations from the attic to the basement.
Amazing Attic Renovation
The attic is often a place that is either ignored, or used as a catchall for storage and junk. Attics are generally too hot in summer and too cold in winter, so they are not a place where people would usually want to hang out.
It is possible to turn an attic into a beautiful, livable space, and the following renovation proves it.
This is before. This shows a prime example of an attic being used just as a catchall for junk.
What a difference! The space has been transformed into a beautiful place for two little girls to live, sleep, and play in! David Cloak, the carpenter for such shows as TBS's Movie and a Makeover and HGTV Remodels decided to use his television show experience to design this space for his own two little girls. With the help of a decorator, he incorporated all of his girls' favorite colors of pink, purple, and blue into the room. The painted overlapping floor circles, window treatments, pillows and accessories all feature these colors. Chalkboard paint covers the storage doors and allow the girls to draw on the doors.
Amazing Kitchen Renovation
The kitchen is possibly the most important room and the house and the room that people renovate the most often. Despite this, there are still many kitchens that need updating. While not bad, this kitchen could use some updating:
Shades of black, white, and grey with subtle pops of green and modern appliances make this kitchen a functional work of art!
The once-boring adjoining dining area also gets a makeover and follows the same color scheme:

This renovation is from HGTV's House Hunters. It shows examples of how buyers of these properties design it to their liking and put their own stamp after it becomes their own property. The dramatic black and white adds drama and flair to an otherwise lackluster kitchen/dining combination.
The original Spanish charm remained but the basic white cabinets were exchanged with gleaming black cabinets with glass-fronts, the butcher-block counters with marble, and the flooring was updated. Also, plumbing problems were repaired and sleek stainless steel appliances replaced the old. As for the dining nook, the theme continues in the flooring, and black and white with green color scheme. A black lacquer table with two black and white toile-patterned chairs and a luxurious button-tufted bench take center stage. The look is completed with sparkling jewel-cut chandeliers in both the kitchen and dining nook.
Amazing Living Room Renovation
A very cold, plain living room..
...gets a star-quality makeover!
Here is another outstanding renovation from HGTV's House Hunters series. A bland living area but with beautiful bay windows gets a serious makeover. The luxurious drapes hang gracefully from near the ceiling and puddle gracefully onto the floor. These drapes are placed all the way around the window area to give the space more depth and make the windows appear longer. Two wing chairs with nailhead trim, a chest used as a coffee table, and a ladder shelf gives the room a sophisticated, yet rugged charm. Everything is done in shades of charcoal, slate, cream and brown.
Amazing Bathroom Renovation
The bathroom is probably the second-most renovated room in the average home. This one started out too stark and too white, drab, and lackluster:
Modern lighting and a modern sink and vanity along with warm grey walls and dark cabinetry have turned this bathroom into a warm and inviting place to be.
Once again, home buyers from HGTV's House Hunters shows what a difference a renovation can make. The home traded out the long white vanity for a smaller a sleeker black vanity below a modern free-standing sink. The mirror and lighting were updated to match the new bathroom. The stark look of the cold, bare window was softened with sheer white panels.
Amazing Bedroom Renovation
A basic uninspired bedroom..
...gets a brand new contemporary look with a bold headboard and graphic wallpaper.
Emily Henderson of HGTV's Secrets From a Stylist turned this boring guest bedroom into a work of art. The black and white graphic wallpaper above the white chair-rail combines with olive green below for a dramatic effect. A bold blue shaped headboard accented with white piping adds to to the drama of this room.
Amazing Basement Renovation
Like the attic, the basement is often ignored or used as a catchall for junk. Here is a basic unfinished basement..
...turned into a gorgeous living/workout space!
Leave it up to Divine Design's Candice Olsen to turn a basic unfinished basement into this dream space! Here, she designed the room to have three distinct work spaces, a lounge area, a media area, and a workout area. Rustic elements combined with modern furnishings make it so stylish it is hard to remember that it was once just a basement!
