Investing in Florida, Selling my condo in VA

I've moved to the DMV area for my job for a few years ago and purchased a condo. It was the best purchase I've done so far. It's currently being rented... sadly to a profession delinquent tenant, according to my colleagues here =( Good thing the check was actually processed today! I am glad!

Good thing I am planning to sell anyway. Now I am wondering what it would be like to sell it with tenants. I will take the proceeding to invest in Florida. By the way, the selling arm of Redfin is quite awful. I won't go into details. But I think Redfin is great for buying, but not selling.

Since I would like to try out the buy and hold strategy first, the property values here in VA are just way too high for me to continuously purchase properties.

2014 will be a big year for me. Selling, buying, and rehabbing. I am quite excited!

  1. Have you invested in Fl area yet

  2. There are choices outside of Arlington. Richmond is fantastic. There are others, but since Richmond, VA is so flush, I haven't started looking elsewhere. Once it dries up, im sure i can find another locality in the state. I have a coworker who invests down there with me, so its very doable. But,I would definitely do buy and hold. Its a great feeling.
