Inspired by Paul Allen
Today I’d like to put the spotlight on Paul Allen, a high profile resident of the Pacific Northwest.
He is creating a sense of community in Seattle with his investments and philanthropy. He has invested in the Seahawks, both state universities in Washington state, created the unique EMP museum, and so much more. From a real estate investing perspective, his urban redevelopment project at South Lake Union.
The area was previously a low-rise, low-rent warehouse district. The area has changed significantly, thanks to both Amazon headquarters moving there and Paul Allen’s portfolio encompassing five million square feet spread across 24 projects, including 1,400 residential units.
Paul Allen has more money than he knows what do with. I sure don’t. But, on a MUCH different scale, both of us are mixing charitable giving with profitable investing with the goal of improving our communities.

@Michele Fischer , good point. You don't have to be soaking rich to enjoy the privilege of being a philanthropist. As always, I enjoy your contribution to the BP community.
