Create an XML Site Map for Your Website

Site maps not only make it easy for visitors to navigate your website, but a properly created site map can help search engines crawl your website easier, helping your SEO.  If you want to create an XML site map for your website, you should consider using XML Sitemaps.

It's really quite simple to create your own search engine friendly site map.  Just go to the , type your URL in the site map generation box, change the parameters to what's appropriate for your purposes and click start.  The program will index up to 500 pages per URL for FREE!  After it is through indexing your pages, you have options to download an un-compressed XML sitemap, a compressed XML sitemap, a ROR sitemap, an html site map or a site map in a text version.

Create a free XML Site Map for your website

XML Sitemap - Use this to submit to search engines, such as Google, Yahoo and Bing to make it easier for them to crawl.  Simply download it into your "public_html/" folder of your website.

Text Sitemap - This is a plain text format of all the pages the program has found on your site.

ROR Sitemap - This is an independent XML version of your sitemap that can be submitted to ANY search engine.

HTML Sitemap - This can be added to your website so that visitors can navigate your pages from one central location.

If you wish to submit your site map to Google for it to crawl your site, you must log in to your Google Webmaster Account, click the Add a Site button and enter your Site map URL.  Follow the prompts and you are cooking with gas or, in this case, Google juice!

While the free version is sure to accommodate most sites, you may want to consider using the Unlimited Site map Generator if you site has more than 500 pages.  It only costs a one-time fee of $19.99.  For an extra $10 fee, you get the installation service but must provide your FTP details in the payment comment section.

A site map is no longer simply a tool used for web visitors to navigate your website.  Google pioneered the XML site map for search engine crawling because websites have become more and more complex.  Now just about every search engine uses the process.  Don't get left behind.  Create an XML site map for your website today with XML Sitemaps.  Watch your search engine rankings soar!  If you need help with this or any other real estate virtual assistance needs, please don't hesitate to contact Second Self Virtual Assistance.
