Why Real Estate Investors Give Up - Part 1 of 4

I found this neat graphic on the internet (author credited in link).  I wanted to adopt it to why real estate investors give up.  Since there are a lot of points on this graphic, I'll cover 4 of them at a time.

Normal 1430433348 Why People Give Up

Expect Fast Results

This is for those who attend the "guru" camps. They get lured in by the promises of fast rewards and that glamorous lifestyle of sitting on the beach while money rolls into their bank account without having to do anything.

Stop Believing in Themselves

This is a tough one to overcome.  You get hyped up and think you can do this, then doubts start creeping in.  "I can't do this, I'm not good enough ..."

Get Stuck in the Past

Someone might envision the time they tried something new in the past and it didn't go well, and are afraid to start something new like investing in real estate. So they quit. They set aside the dream because of something that happened to them in the past.

Dwell on Mistakes

Maybe someone did invest in real estate at one time and made some mistakes.  I've made mistakes, Brandon Turner has made mistakes, Josh Dorkin has made mistakes, all the big names make mistakes.  The important thing is to learn from those mistakes and move forward.  Dwelling on the mistakes is not going to get you anywhere.

  2. What an eye opening post.  As a newbie, it's amazing how many of these you know you should not feel, but still on many levels do.  Even on the subconscious level, these are the reasons behind many decisions we make, even if we're not fully aware why.

  3. Great Post

  4. Inspiration.

  5. Nice, I can see where all of these have popped up at one time or another in my life, but I am still swinging
