Book Review: Real Estate Riches by Dolf De Roos
The book "Real Estate Riches" is subtitled "How to become rich using your banker's money" and was written by Dolf De Roos, one of the "Rich Dad" advisory team. The forward is written by Robert Kiyosaki, but it's only a couple of pages so there isn't much content there.
Overall, the book essentially says the same thing over and over again, which is to laud the benefits of real estate investing over stocks, and how to use leverage to increase your wealth. That's basically it. But, the author is a good author, so he finds a way to stretch this out to 158 pages.
In the book, he talks about real estate in the U.S. but also talks about Australia and New Zealand quite a bit. If the book was meant for a U.S. based audience, then talking about other parts of the world generally doesn't make a lot of sense, because most Americans haven't traveled to those parts of the world, and don't know a lot about them.
So, although this book was a lot of repetition, I did find some very wise advise buried all the way in the back on pages 152 and 153. And that was that when you find a good real estate deal, you shouldn't just stop looking, because there are more good deals out there. It just sometimes takes more effort to find them.
