Landlord Boot Camp - Milwaukee

The city of Milwaukee offers a free landlord training over a 2-day time period.  Interested landlords can sign up here:

I attended in 2012 and found the program very informative and worth the time.  They even threw in a free 100-page manual of information.

The Apartment Association of Southeastern WI is also offering a "Landlord Boot Camp in October taught by an attorney.  The cost is $159 for members and $249 for non-members.  This is a full day event, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm, and specifically covers Wisconsin Landlord-Tenant law.

More information can be found here:

  1. Thank you Dawn Anastasi, I signed up for the landlord training in Milwaukee.

  2. As far as the city, the overall goal is to better educate landlords! Better educated landlords lead to fewer reports to DNS (department of neighborhood services), hopefully fewer evictions (less strain on the court system), less police activity (due to better screening for tenants). Overall, I don't know of any situation where a better educated population would not HELP the community!

  3. Interesting - What's the goal of the City? I've never heard of a City putting on an event like this? M Thanks for sharing though! I'm curious as to what they'll talk about!
