Remember the Little things

Remembering little things like Ink for your printer can easily solve BIG issues that will surely arise at the absolute worst times.

Case in Point, After my normal routine of waking up, feeding the children breakfast and transporting them to the institutions we're hoping are shaping and forming our kids minds and knowledge into what we expect. I sat down with just under an hour and half before a signing with a homeowner doing a Sub2.

This one is particularly a decent deal due to the location of the house being at the end of a cul-de-sac with a greenbelt of large grassy areas, sand volleyball court and a small covered play area for children in a very desired neighborhood. With assuming that I have plenty of time I start filling in the contracts with needed information on the laptop, everything is going good. I'm taking a few calls and experiencing a few minor extractions but nothing out of the normal. After filling out the forms on the laptop it's time to click on the tab called 'print'.....................that's when it all starts, Printer is out of black ink!!!    Oh no I thought, I don't have enough time to run and buy some before I need to meet with the sellers.

I thought of what I thought at the time a great plan of emailing myself the forms and stop by a Kinko's on the way to meet the sellers. Fast forward and summarizing, Kinko's was having problems with their printers and I didn't find that out until I spent 10 minutes trying to get a computer to pull the email I sent my self. I call the seller and tell them I'll be a few minutes late and then run to Office Max to get black ink, run back to replace and print out the forms that are becoming almost impossible to get.

Apparently the Black ink won't work unless the Blue ink is full as well. Guess what, the Blue was magically out as well, so another quick trip to Office Max to get Blue ink and run back. Now that I've please the emotionally sensitive Printer with new Black and Blue ink I was able to print out all the forms accordingly and Race to meet the sellers..............................an hour later!!!

Fortunately I was able to proceed without any other hangups but it taught me a valuable lesson, MAKE SURE YOU HAVE INK IN THE PRINTER!!

trust me it will save you from having to run around like a mouse in a maze when your closing a seller on a deal.....

I hope I may have been some help.

  1. Nick - With so much happening around us these days it is certainly a challenge to remember everything. I think your post is more of a reminder to just slow down. We don't have to rush through life, and we certainly shouldn't be rushing ourselves through deals and transactions. Good reminder!
