Dave Ramsey Review: The Total Money Makeover pt 2

This will be the conclusion to my review of Dave Ramsey's book.

You can find the first part of the review here: Dave Ramsey Review

As mentioned before, most books I read are usually going to get the passing grade from me. This is the case because I usually don't purchase blind, I typically have an idea of what the book is going to be like. Most books are usually worth the price as long as you get ONE nugget of information that you did not know previously and that ONE nugget will either save or make your the price of the book 10 fold.

In the first part of the review, I mentioned that a big topic of Dave's book is these 'Baby Steps' he talks about. These 'Baby Steps' are great! Until you get to 'Maximize Retirement Investing'

Now, don't get me wrong. I'm all for investing for retirement as much as the next guy, however, as I mentioned before I believe(and others have confirmed) this book is geared toward W2 wage earners so the methods in which he speaks about in achieving the maximizing I do not agree with. I'm not saying he's wrong because I can assure you two things; One, he has more money than I do and two, he's smarter than I am.

I just believe in investing for your retirement a little differently and that is because I am certifiably un-employable. I can assure you that NO EMPLOYER is dumb enough to hire me. And for that, I see things a little differently than he does or at least how he writes about in his book.

But, let me tell you why you should buy this book.

No matter if you are a full time investor like myself or a part timer, or even just beginnig. His methods and teachings in his baby steps are great! I think you should purchase the book just to give yourself a step by step guide to getting out of debt.

Why should you do this? Isn't Real Estate all about leveraging? Sure...............But, wouldn't it be nice if you could invest without the worry of your debts? without the worry about your car payment, credit card payments and student loans?

Wouldn't that free up A LOT more money to use in your investing allowing you to get even better deals and realize better returns?

Absolutely!!!

Pick this book up on amazon, ebay or your local book store. I was fortunate enough to get a signed copy of the book so I won't be selling mine(I have a thing about getting all my books signed by the author). Take the book and read it with an open mind. I can assure you that you will feel just like me and that it was worth the read.

Take the forms he provides you with and implement them to track your results. Do this, report back and let everyone know how your path to Financial Freedom is taking shape.
