10 Amazing Mobile App's To Improve Your Real Estate Investing Business

App’s, App’s, App’s. They are everywhere.

There is an app for just about anything these days with thousands more being developed each and every day.

In this blog post I will be covering 10 of the top apps that I use daily in my real estate investing business.

1. Evernote

This is an incredible app that I use everyday in my real estate investing business. The uses for this app are nearly endless. Here are just a few ways that you can use this mighty app:

Note Keeping- Keep track of all your notes whether typed or written. Create itemized folders for your notes. Take pictures of or scan written notes and upload to the app. Drag and drop articles from websites right into your notes. You can even search all your notes by keywords.

Capture Business Cards- Do you have an ever growing pile of business cards you have accumulated over the years like myself? Have you ever tried to find a specific person that you needed to contact but had to search through that pile?

Now you can just snap a picture of the business card and store it in Evernote with any contact information or notes that you want. You can also do the same with receipts.

All of the notes, lists, photos, etc, that you save into evernote are kept on the cloud for you to access from any of your mobile devices. This app is a must!!

Cost- There are 3 plans. Basic is Free, Plus is $24.99 per year, and the Premium is $49.99 per year.

2. Podio

This is an amazing CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool that you can implement into your real estate investing business.

This app is great for keeping track of all of your seller leads and real time communication with your team in regards to those leads. Set tasks and deadlines for your team. Save all notes, pictures and communications with sellers.

Keep track of all of your direct mail marketing campaigns and keep them organized. You can access Podio on all of your devices.

Other highlights are:
● Instant messaging with your team
● Commenting
● Status posts
● Go To Meeting integrations
● Workspace calendar integrations
● File sharing and storage
● Embed webforms on your websites

Cost- There are 5 different plans to fit your needs including a free plan. The paid plans are $9, $14 and $24 a month. The enterprise plan is a customized plan for large businesses and the price depends on your needs. The free version is excellent though and meets all my needs.

3. Docusign

This app allows you to sign documents on the go from any of your mobile devices. You don’t have to worry about faxing or printing documents out, signing and scanning back in to email out. If you have an important contract that needs to be signed, time is of the essence and you are not near a computer, this app can really come in handy. With just a few taps on your mobile device you can have contracts signed and sent.

This app also helps to eliminate large paper trails since everything is stored digitally and kept safe through Docusign’s bank grade security.

Cost- This is a free app for mobile devices. There is a charge for PC’s and Mac’s.

4. DropBox

This app allows you to store, share and sync files all in one place that are kept on the cloud. You can view from any of your mobile devices. Share with team members and allow them all to update/work on chosen files.

Cost- There are 3 plans. Basic is free. Pro is $9.99 month. Business is $15 per user per month.

5. Google Drive

Google Drive is somewhat similar to DropBox being that it also allows you to store documents on the cloud and access from other computers or mobile devices. You can store important contracts, spreadsheets, and other documents and access them on the go.

Cost- There are 6 plans

6. Zillow, Redfin, Trulia & Realtor.com

All four of these apps can come in very handy when you need quick and basic information about a specific property.

These apps can show you information on real estate such as List prices, amount of bedrooms, baths, square footage, lot size, last sale price, and a rough estimation of its present value.

You can also use these sites to search for comparable properties to give you a more solid idea of the current value or after repaired value of a certain property.

Cost- All of these apps are free to use

7. Scannable

This app can save you a ton of time when used in conjunction with Evernote. It allows you to have a portable scanner in your pocket wherever you go.

This scanner instantly detects business cards, receipts and any other paper that you point it at and makes a high quality scan of it that you can save to your phone, Evernote, or email.

Fully utilizing this app can really free all of the clutter from your desk. You can store and organize all of your papers using this app.

Cost- Free

8. Roboform

This is one of the top Password Managers on the market. In this day and age we have passwords for everything. Trying to remember or keep track of all of our passwords can be a frustrating task to say the least.

Roboform securely stores all of your passwords so that you do not have to remember or type your passwords any longer. This app can be stored on all of your devices.

Cost- Free on mobile devices.

9. GotoMyPC

Allows you to access you computer from anywhere. How many times have you been away from you computer but really needed access to a document on it? GotoMyPC allows you to log into your computer from any computer or smart mobile device.

Cost- The app is free but you must have a subscription to access your Mac or PC. $11.95 a month or $114.72 year for 1 user. There are 2 more plans where the price is dependent upon how many users and computers will need to use the same account.

10. Skype

Excellent app for communicating with people all over the world. Allows for an easy way to instant message, video calls, group calls, voice calls, screen sharing and file sharing.

If you currently have Virtual assistants working for you or you plan to in the near future, this app is a must have. I use this app to communicate with all of my virtual assistants everyday that are located half way across the world in completely different countries.

Keep in touch with them by using the instant message option or voice calls. If you need to show them anything that you are viewing on your own computer, just use the screen share. Works great for training the VA’s. For as little as $2.99 a month you can even have your VA make unlimited phone calls to landlines or cellphones based in the US.

Cost- App is free. You can call any Skype user in the world, via your computer, for free. If you would like to call landlines and cell phones there is a charge and it depends on what country you will be calling. You can also send text messages as well but charges do apply.

There you have it. 10 Applications that you can use today to enhance your real estate investing business.

  1. @Adela Mizrachi thank you for the recommendation. I have never heard of that app but it sounds great!! I have always struggled with keeping track of mileage driven but it sounds like this would be a great help with that!

  2. If you ever decide to expand your list to 11 instead of 10, you should check out Everlance. It automatically detects when you are driving and logs your miles for you. Real estate investors don't realize how much they could deduct on their taxes from mileage alone (In the first 2 months of 2016 I can already deduct $500 and I'm doing this part time, so it can really add up). In addition, Everlance lets you log expenses and add a photo of your receipt. It sends you a monthly log of both mileage and expenses. It's FREE and awesome. I swear I don't work there or anything...I just love it because it has made my life so much easier.
