Block Parties Are Not for Business-Minded Landlords
Yeah right! You know I don't believe that.
Take a look at what happens at our annual celebrations.
SlideShare Presentation at:
This party was funded by donations from 10 other landlords and three local businesses.
I provided the leadership, they happily contributed funds, food, and supplies.
Our inner-city community is more connected than ever and my rents match those in the hip parts of town.
Is there anything left to say?

@Kathleen Leary, you're so correct. To parlay the goodness, I'm planning to include a modified verion of my SlideShare in my Craiglist ads.

It's great PR, start to finish. Neighbors get to meet each other (& you!) & it only builds cohesiveness in the neighborhood. It can only help you, business-wise & personally.

Thanks @Tom Keith. Making money feels good, building community feels great. @roy n. I've learned that people want to feel as if they belong. Your event will surely help. Plus, even those who don't attend will be happy to know they had an option.

Al, It has inspired us to attempt a back-to-school BBQ in our student neighbourhood this autumn. We shall see if it works in that type of neighbourhood where the inhabitants (students) are more transient and tend to have less association with the neighbourhood.
