Video - National Night Out - Inner City Wealth Creation

Here is a video showing how my fellow landlords and I use National Night Out as a means to create a safer and more vibrant community. We do this to deliberately build inner city wealth.

See the YouTube video (http://youtu.be/OETIgCqMec0).

Since 1981, National Night Out has been celebrated on the first Tuesday in August. It is an event created by the National Association Town Watch and is a proven tactic for reducing crime and spurring on crime watch and drug prevention groups.

Landlords didn't invent the celebration, but they can use it to increase their property values

Landlords in inner cities limit their equity-building potential when they don't counter the atmosphere of despair that plagues many lower-income communities. It's far better to spend energy organizing an event that connects residents than to exert energy and resource cleaning graffiti, dealing vandals, or coping with the aftermath of crime.

How landlords can get started with National Night Out

Organizing a block party is easier than you think. Start with something simple like an ice cream party. Here are some NNO ideas and tips to help you make your gathering into a neighborhood tradition.

Just give it a try
