Return on Investment- my thoughts
When I first began my RE investment journey in 2002 I needed a way to evaluate my investments and an easy way to compare them. I was specifically interested in my Cash on Cash rate of return because that simplified the process of comparing a rental property to a CD, historic market average of a bond fund, or another rental property. If you don't know about the area where I invest then you might find these numbers hard to believe- but they are. When I began I was looking for a 30% cash on cash ROI. It was hard to find them at first but that was because I was looking in the wrong areas! I put together an excel spreadsheet to help me analyze my potential investments. If you want to get a copy of my spreadsheet, send me a message with your email address and I'll send you the one that I use. It will be easy for you to edit- for the most part you just put in your numbers and the spreadsheet does all of the math for you!
