“Focus on the long term, whether it's 5 years, 10, 15, 25. It’s a whole different mental space and idea on how to handle finances.” ~Aryeh Sheinbein
Aryeh also explains fair value and private market valuations and how they can relate to raw land investment.
TIP OF THE WEEK
Aryeh: My tip of the week is one word. Patience. It hits on everything: business, investment, or life. If you’re building or growing something, you think it should happen in 12 months or less. It’s not going to. Continue to build the skill. Have the patience to see it blossom. Most people don’t have the patience and bail too early, because they don’t have the patience.
As for books, the book I like a lot and that I read every other year is James Cleary’s Atomic Habits. If you read the book and implement the ideas, it’s game-changing.
The other book I’ve read recently is Adam Grant’s Think Again. It gives you perspective on investing, business or life as well. If you don’t take the time to rethink why you’re doing something, you can be on a sinking ship and not realize it, because you’re too focused on your idea working out.
Mark: Atomic Habits is one of those books you should read every single year.
