Why I like lien investing

While doing a little spreadsheet analysis today, I did a quick pivot table that listed all the bidders winning total and average rate of return each bidder received in the Coconino County Arizona tax lien auction last year.

Then I sorted by the average rate of return highest to lowest. Here is an image of the spreadsheet that shows all the winners who averaged 15% or higher and how much they invested.

You have to like these numbers. I'll take almost $20,000 at 16% interest any day.

Looking at the data like this, I know what I can bid on to make a very good return and learn what my competition did in the last year (or more as I save the data each year).
