You can't avoid taxes, especially if you own a business. So you might as well do it right. Tax preparation is something that many people do not want to do. So what they do is wait until the last moment before they start to deal with it. But this is not the right way to deal with taxes. This practice can lead to disaster. You cannot be late when it comes to submitting tax requirements. Below are some of the qualities that you should look for in a tax preparer.

Proactive

The best tax preparers out there are those who are proactive. Being proactive means having the initiative to do things even without being prompted. A good professional can foresee possible problems and would come up with a solution even before the complication arises. He or she knows what to expect. He or she anticipates the things that can happen and would have a ready solution for possible scenarios. If you have someone working for you who is proactive then you know that your taxes are in good hands.

Plenty of experience

Of course, the above quality is born out of experience. This is why when you are looking for someone to do your taxes, you should go with one that has plenty of experience already. There are is a big difference between someone who is only exposed to books and theories and someone who has been exposed to real life situation. Tax is a complicated issue. When you go with someone who has a degree, then you can be sure that he or she has the right knowledge and expertise. CPAs study accounting for several years.
