New Amarillo Restaurant Café Marizon to Open this Month

We should see the new Amarillo restaurant, Cafe’ Marizon, open at the end of the month.  The owners are currently busy adding all the finishing touches to the new 3,700 square-foot location, which can be found on Hillside Rd.  The owners will be closing their Polk Street Café Marizon this month before opening the doors to the new location.
If you’re a fan of the Polk Street Café Marizon and its open room concept, then you will enjoy the new location just as much.  The picture gallery of historical Amarillo will also drive the décor of the new location.   Amarillo’s historical pictures have been a staple of the restaurant since they opened 15 years ago. 
They started out with just 15 pictures on the wall, but that quickly snowballed into many more as people began bringing their photos to add to the collection.  Now, there are over 140 framed historical photos of Amarillo in the restaurant.  You will find other local memorabilia at the new location too.  One of the top items to look forward to is the circa1920s key to the long gone Amarillo Hotel.
There will also be an expanded menu that will include beer and wine along with appetizers like fried green beans.  Hours for the new location will be 11:00am to 9:00pm Monday through Thursday.  Friday and Saturday hours will extend to 11pm.  And, for those interested in the Polk Street location, it will be available for lease by April 1st.
