Bust!!!

I tried to be what I thought was cost efficient and independent, but quickly got burnt out. I was gathering my own leads from the eviction list, code violations, and undeliverable mail. I had a Google Voice number set up for the calls while I was at work. Who knew it would take so much time? No me. I did that approach because I saw how much money I could be saving. It wasn't much; it was probably under a $1000 a year. I looked up one day and it had been months before I sent out a single piece of mail.

6 months later, I'm giving it another shot. This time I used yellowletters.com to buy my list and postcards. My list came out to be 2000 that will be mailed 1000 at a time 1 week apart. Yellowletters.com has a platinum card for $197. It gives you 15% off each purchase. Too bad I didn't know about it before I ordered. I set up an account with Voice Nation to answer the phones. It's $30 a month with 30 minutes. I will continue to pull my own code violations because it's easy.

This new approach is more expensive, but more sustainable. I probably missed out on deals, money, and experience due to me being a cheap. I'm working smarter not harder.

  1. Thanks for posting Shanequa. I, too, have been trying to do this on my own to save money, but I'm quickly finding out that it's very tiring. I'm currently looking to purchase a list for late mortgages, have you had any experience with this?

    Thanks,

    Latoria Harris

    1. I have not purchased mortgage lates, but I did mail to pre-foreclosures for about 2 months. I received 1 phone call and the house didn't have enough equity to wholesale or for me to keep. I pulled the list myself.
