Probate Property Investing

I am branching out in my real estate investing and researching adding probate properties to my strategies.  This area may have some advantages over REO and Foreclosure investing in that it seems to be a "road less traveled by other investors.  I will add additional posts updating my progress.

  1. Can definitely be a sensitive time in folks lives but with the right approach....

  2. My advice is to know & understand your states probate laws. I spent some $$$ with a probate attorney to help me miss the landmines that are in the road. With probate sales you can spot a good deal quicker than any other form of re investing.

  3. We have a probate group here on BP if you're interested. There isn't a whole lot of action but like you said, it is the 'road less traveled'.

  4. I have been going to the surrogate court once a week. Just started sending out letters. I received one call last week. Not bad for just starting out!

  5. I have found finding good deals in probate court very time consuming, but when I have the deals have been better than what's available in the general market.
