New No Fee Costa Rica Vacation Rental Site
I recently discovered, and have helped build-out, a new, no-fee (more on the fees later), Costa Rica Vacation rental site. The site is called: costaricavillasrent.com
The advantages of the platform is:
- No booking fees for customers (renters)
- No booking fees for property managers/owners
- No credit card needed to sign-up. The free period is FREE
- No transaction fees for bookings (they don't touch any of the money between owners/property managers and renters)
- Contact information of prospective clients is immediately known (unlike VRBO).
- Six months free for listings and for property managers there is a nice discount after the free period.
- User-friendly website/interface
In terms of fees, for individual home owners, the fee is $99/year (plus a six month free period) = 18 months for $99 (18 cents/day).
I encourage any Costa Rica homeowner, or any Costa Rica property manager, to consider participating in this new product launch.
The purpose of the website launch was to be able to offer property managers and homeowners the opportunity to rent their home out to travelers, without having to pay ever increasing fees that are charged by the "big guys" (VRBO, AirBnB, TripAdvisor, etc). I've noticed over the past twelve months with VRBO that their fees have seemed to have increased to both property managers AND homeowners, all while holding funds to the homeowner until clients check-in - which could be in a year from date of booking.
I'm optimistic that this site will gain traction in the Costa Rica vacation home market.
