RED ALERT!! HELP! HELP! ...Please share!
OKLAHOMA SB 695 will force landlords to pay the unpaid water bills of their tenants. This is absurd. Next will they require the electric, gas, cable and phone as well?
This will mean that landlords will have to increase the amount of deposit there tenants will have to place in order to protect the landlord from potential losses.
In most cases this will be a financial burden to the tenant at a time when they already face moving expenses. It is not the fault of landlords if the tenant doesn't pay the water bill. If you rent or own rental property this will adversely affect you. Please contact your state representative and urge him/her to vote against this bill. It is on the calendar and may be voted on in the next 1-2 days.

I'm a wholesaler from Detroit, Mi. When Investors rent properties to tenants, the Investor normally has the tenant sign a water affidavit. It cost $112 and the tenant pays it. From the date the tenant signs it, the tenant is responsible for the water bill ans it's in the tenants name.
