Top Menu Items:

From the main menu, the gumbo has garnered quite the reviews. The gumbo is a hearty meal made of sausage, rice, okra, zucchini, squash, celery, and mirepoix greens. It is rich in flavor, with just enough kick to not overwhelm your tastebuds. It’s a customizable dish so feel free to add or remove ingredients that best suit your preferences.

Plant-Based Menu Items

The vegan options at Forty Acres are plentiful; it can become a challenge to decide where to begin.

The fried cauliflower is a delicious appetizer. Hushpuppies are complementary along with your choice of sauces. However, the only vegan sauces are the sweet chili, forty hot sauce, and barbecue (*the jalapeño syrup, remoulade, and Cajun aioli are not vegan-friendly).

The vegan platter is another fantastic selection. Panko-crusted tempeh is served with four sides - greens, black-eyed peas,

mashed potatoes, gravy, and mac and cheese. The tempeh is well seasoned and crispy, the greens are perfectly salty and melt in your mouth, and the mac and cheese are creamy and delicious.

Drinks

Forty Acres also has an extensive drink menu highlighting liquor with deep roots in African American history. Midwest's only cognac bar gives you that history and an understanding of the production. Forty Acres invites you to acknowledge and celebrate history by leaving with a full stomach.
