MANAGING A TEAM AND KEEP THEM FOCUSED ON A GOAL

My first tip is to call your staff your "team" instead on your employees just to make sure they feel more inclusive in your company.

Moreover, have a wildly important goal that you need to complete by a certain date. This keeps your organization growing instead of drowning in the world wind of admin work that is necessary to keep your business running, but doesn't really bring growth. For our company our WIG  is to close a 8-20 unit by 2/29/21.

We measure our progress by measuring lag measures. They are called Lag measures because they come at the end of the process and by then it's too late to change anything. An example of a lag measure is to submit 10 LOIs by 2/28/21.

We put more emphasis on the lead measures because that is the work that you put upfront to make the lag measure more likely. For our team, a lead measure owe have is to make 825 calls a day.If we make 825 calls a week (10k calls in 3 months) we are more likely to submit 10 LOIs. If we submit 10 LOIs we are more likely to close on a deal that meets our criteria.
