FIGURING OUT YOUR "WHY" IS VERY IMPORTANT

The most important thing you need to figure out is your "why" to get you through the hard times because I assure you there will be plenty of them along this journey.
You need to sit down and ask yourself what are the most important things in your life to you that will keep you going when things get tough.
My "why" is spending time with my family and friends and going on many short vacations every year. Yours needs to be something that will motivate you to keep going when contractors and tenants cause problems because I assure you they will or when you run into difficult repair issues that you did not realize cause there will always be many of these along your journey. Figuring out your "why" is the single most important thing you will need along your journey because this business will try your patience dealing with people in every form you can think of. One of my favorite quotes from Dave Ramsey is everything works out great until people are involved, that is so true in todays world.

  1. Mark,

Yup, there will be challenges. If you are prepared, by expecting them, they are not nearly as devastating. Some are so likely that you can plan ahead, for your poised response, when it happens. Like: "Sorry, the rents gonna' be late by five-days." The response you are prepared with: "Expect a 3-day or quit notice tomorrow."

    1. yes mam, we have been fortunate so far we don't deal with to many late issues, just recently had someone give us a home back in almost as good a shape as we sold it to them in
      thanks for your comment
