Baltimore City Inspection Process
- 1. Contact an approved inspector at https://cels.baltimorehousing.org/reg/RegHI_LicenseList.aspx
- 2. Pass Inspection.
- 3. Register or login here https://dhcd.baltimorecity.gov/pi/alarmproperty-registration
- 4. Upload required documents.
- 5. Pay license fee.
- 6. Post license in common area in 3+ units.
- 7. Add this addendum to your lease https://dhcd.baltimorecity.gov/sites/default/files/CB18-0179%20Proposed%20lease%20Addendum%20Final.docx
Things to note:
- 1. $1,000 fines for non-compliance.
- 2. Must register within 10days of property closing.
- 3. Have to register whether the unit is inhabitable or not.
- 4. Register every year before Dec. 31st. Initial inspection lasts 2 years. Next inspection lasts 1, 2 or 3 years depending on behaviour.
