Introduction to my blog

Hello, my name is Michael Rosenblum, I'm 23 years old and I am from Israel. I have just now started to learn and study real estate and this is my first blog. In this blog I plan on telling my story and the steps I am taking on my educational journey, while I'm doing it. I will share the content I'm consuming, my thoughts on the new knowledge I obtain, fears that arise in the process and really anything feelings that might build up towards the subject of real estate.

How Did I Decide Real Estate?

For many years I've had a mind set of just working my whole life in a 9-to-5 job, putting aside a few bucks each month and not really "bothering" myself with too ambitious goals in the financial aspect. All of this changed when one of my best friends started nagging me to read Robert Kyosaki's "Rich Dad Poor Dad" (of course). So after a while he wore me down and i decided to give it a try. No surprise it caught my attention, and after finishing the book I realized that my first life goal was not the life I am wishing for my self and I began to check the alternatives.

At first I started investing some money in the stock exchange with a friend, but my final goal in the back of my head was to some day get in to real estate. After a few month in the stocks market, I realized its not as fun and rewarding as i thought (I still invest there cause i know it takes more time to really see the profits), and after talking with a good friend, that's already investing in real estate in the US, I decided that there's no time like the present. Of course you can't just go and buy a house, especially when you don't live and don't have citizenship in the country you want to invest in, so i decided to use my good self teaching abilities to learn as much as i can before getting my hands dirty.

Why Did I Start This Blog?

1. Having some order- I believe it will be very useful for me to put every thing i read, hear, see into writing. This way i can process better what I'm learning and not have it being lost or scrambled around in my head, confusing me (I use a note pad as well but that's so 1980...)

2. Learning more and networking- Hopefully this blog will reach some investors that have already made a few deals or are even just a little a head of me in the learning process. This way I might get feedback on the things that cross my mind and I might hear and learn things that i wouldn't have had I kept my conclusions to myself.

3. Help others- Of course I'm not kidding myself, I now I'm just getting started and I still don't have much to give, but I'm hoping that I might, even though I'm a beginner, inspire others to begin their path down this road. More over, I believe it will help others who are starting now to reading what material people are reading and learning from and hopefully make them feel comfortable enough to share their experiences in the comments.

4. For myself- The last think I'm hoping to get out of this is a kind of memory book. I imagine myself in a few years, after I've become an experienced investor, reading this blog and grinning happily to myself thinking of the way I have come.

What Are My Goals?

Ok you cant write your first post about your path in real estate without talking about goals.

Let me start from the end. I DON'T want real estate investing to be my main career. I have greater ambitions in the medical research field that I want to achieve. But... I want to be doing what I love and am passionate about in this field and for that I need to not be relying on it as my only source of income. I'm hope and believe real estate will be able to give me the financial security I need in order to not be influenced by wage benefits when making decisions regarding my main career. In other words I'm not looking to build the largest real estate company in the world and do a 100 deals a year. I'm looking to make a few thousand dollars a month in passive income in order to support myself. That being said I do have an interest in being an entrepreneur and not just a passive investor.

My more immediate goal is to put an emphasize on flipping houses. Naturally my cash savings are pretty low and wont get bigger with a regular job seeing as how I'm about to start university soon and i have a big trip to visit family in Latin America coming up. From the little I've learned already it seems like one of the faster ways to build up wealth through real estate is flipping houses and in addition its something i can really see my self enjoying (I've always likes being handy and the renovation world).

My even MORE immediate goal is in one year to have started already my first deal. So 05/06/21 is the date to be looking forward to.

Closing Words

In conclusion, I hope this blog with interest anyone in this community, beginner or expert. feel free to leave your comment on this post and on the ones to follow regarding anything I've said. Bad/good/contradicting/verifying or just our personal story.

I'll be sure to continue sharing, stay tuned...
