Life Happens... 90 Days of Intention - A Case Study: Day 14

Alright, I'll just come out and say it.  I didn't meet my goals for this week.  Here's what I said I would do:

  • Make an additional 10 cold calls using leads from craigslist
  • Learn how to prepare an all cash offer
  • Learn how to use a three option letter of intent
  • Research cold calling scripts for real estate
  • Continue blogging and networking on BP

I even scheduled time on Thursday afternoon/evening to get it all done but life had other plans.  I found out on Thursday evening that I had an important evaluation the following day.  I had to pause my Real Estate learning to focus on my day job work.  Then I got caught up with family life over the weekend.  Not a great week, but here's what's on the agenda for this week.

WHAT I'VE DONE:

  • Learned how to prepare an all-cash offer
  • Learned how to use a three option letter of intent
  • Found a cold calling script to use for real estate

I didn't get to write my usual Thursday blog post and I didn't make any cold calls from craigslist.  As I learned this week, "The best lead generation system is the one that you'll use and use consistently."  I guess I better start being consistent...

WHAT I WILL DO THIS WEEK:

Since I didn't meet my goals last week, I've got to make up for it this week.  I'm doubling my cold calls and learning about lead generation.  Here's this weeks tasks:

  • Make 25 cold calls using leads from craigslist
  • Research lead generation techniques
  • Continue blogging and networking on BP

WHAT I'VE LEARNED:

1. Life happens and work/Amazon demands will not decrease any time soon.  I need to be more strategic about scheduling my time to focus on Real Estate.  Earlier in the week is better because if life does happen, I still have the rest of the week remaining to adjust my schedule.

2. I'll say it again.  "The best lead generation system is the one that you'll use and use consistently"  I need to figure out what/how to consistently do.

QUESTIONS/ISSUES:

My biggest question right now is how wholesalers are closing contracts without physically seeing a house or meeting the seller in person.  I know that video appraisals aren't the norm but in the long run I think this is a good thing.  It enables growing at scale and also means you can wholesale in any city!

It's just a quick/simple post this week.  I'm prioritizing taking action and making progress this week instead of just blogging about not doing anything.
