The history of human generations counts thousands of miracles, including astonishing constructions. The most sturdy among them were able to intersect the time boundaries and survive. In today's blog post, I'm going to show you one of the most remarkable masterpieces in the world.
Taj Mahal, India - it was composed by Shah Jahan in remembrance of his wife Mumtaz Mahal. The construction started in 1632 and was completed after 16 years of working, in 1648. This building, which is identified as a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a symbol of love and tragedy.
Acropolis of Athens - It is considered one of the most monumental buildings in the world whose cultural significance is tremendous. It was the place where democracy was born and is one of the earliest known establishments in Greece. Acropolis is an antique city that still preserves much of its authentic architecture and churches.
Westminster Abbey - is one of the most remarkable sacred buildings of Great Britain. It was the traditional inauguration and funeral site for English monarchs. Later, for British monarchs as well. Since the coronation of William the conqueror, all coronations have been held here.
Empire state building - The empire state building was built during the Great Depression. It was a period of hopelessness, fatalism, the worst times for numbers of people. It was the most amazing building ever built which inspired depressed souls to think positively and gave them great hope of a better future.
The Colosseum - The colosseum in Rome is significant because it is the most ambitious amphitheater in the ancient Roman empire. The name "Colosseum" comes from its extensive and colossal dimensions. In 80 AD Vespasian's son Titus presented the amphitheater. It was the gift of the emperor to the people and became a symbol of the strength and majesty of the ruler.
