Schools in Houston County GA - Your One-Stop Resource

3197The motto for Houston County Georgia schools in 2010 is "Building an Education for all Students".

On average, the public schools in Houston County GA have scored better on the Georgia Education Scoreboard than the state as a whole.  The scoreboard  is a state-wide indicator of whether the district is meeting state education goals.  Among other things, it tracks graduation rates, on-track rates, and science achievement.

The Houston County school system has worked hard to improve Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores over the past decade.  Below are the 2009 SAT figures for the county.  For complete details on what the SAT is, why it is used, and for specific school statistics for a previous school year, visit the Governor's Office of Student Achievement.

All students graduating after 2011 will use the new Georgia Department of Education, Georgia Performance Standards curriculum.  Follow the link for a complete list of Houston County GA Graduation Requirements.
