How to Grow Your Personal Brand

A thriving brand is a dream of many, but many also fail to achieve any progress due to either planning a wrong strategy of marketing or not planning one at all. Although growing a brand isn’t an easy task in general and contains many steps that need to be followed, social media does make it much more convenient and supports you to save your time and money.

That’s why I have decided to share some tips on using social media as a way of growing your brand and what steps you need to take before placing ads on different platforms.

1) Set values and prioritize them.

One of my favorite experiments is when organizers asked people, why do they love Coca-Cola? The majority of the people answered that it simply makes them happy. Do you remember what's the main brand message of the company? To have a positive impact on people, to bring them happiness. 

That means, their branding strategy is perfectly working. Sometimes, we might overestimate our possibilities, set unrealistic goals and wrong values. Think carefully, what core values can be the best fit for your company, what can you promise the people. Be realistic and never offer something in your messages you can't offer in reality. Additionally, try to prioritize goals and values to save your time and energy and stay focused on the most important ones.

2) Create an individual image.

Did you know, that even though a customer does not directly see your logo while walking in the street, or while scrolling down the Facebook newsfeed, his brain recognizes and remembers the colors, shapes, and emotions? 

For example, in one social experiment, people were walking towards the market without directly noticing the logo signs, that were specially put for them. In an experiment, the majority of the people chose the mentioned brand product, also indicating that they did not see the signs at all. This example clearly shows the significant role of branding and creating your exceptional, individual image.

3) Promote yourself before promoting your business.

Specialists say that smart businessmen have buyers waiting for their products to launch. That's exactly what you should try to accomplish. Start building your brand using different social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, YouTube, Podcast, BiggerPockets and even TikTok. Join groups dedicated to your work area. Share your experience and knowledge with people and try to gain the trust of the audience in you and your possibilities.
