Make More Money Playing The Long Game

Every day, across the country, countless real estate investors are frustrated with their deal flow or profits (and of course cash flow as a result). They ask, Why isn’t my business growing as fastas I want it to? Why can’t I find the great deals I hear about? Why isn’t my bank account over flowing with cashola?

As an entrepreneur, part of our identity is wrapped up in how well our business is or isn’t doing.

Sometimes we blame ourselves when our business isn’t doing as well as we want. It becomes personal, and it can weigh heavy on our conscience. We lose sleep over it. What are we, as people and business owners, doing wrong?

Much of the time, the problem isn’t personal at all. Rather, there’s a problem within the businessitself. It may be an issue with a system or process. Now, it might be a system you put into place, and it may be a system that worked at one time, but as you’ve grown, that system no longer works as intended. That’s what’s really causing your grief. It could also be a mentor or coach you follow or bought something from and that coach or that “something” is now outdated for the market.

But you have to identify that. You have to figure out what the problem really is in order to fix it. It may require you to get your hands dirty. Or maybe you need to level up your skills. You’re so lost in the weeds because you haven’t done any reading or been to a live training in 12 months or even longer than that. You’re stuck in the past.Keep in mind that your business and your bank account can never outgrow you. Your skillsets, your personal development level will limit your income. Grow and income will follow.

If you ever find yourself in this situation, it is important to be honest with yourself about your leadflow, your techniques for buying relative to the market conditions, your business’s long-term potential, and your abilities as an entrepreneur. Once you’re being honest with yourself, you can start to come up with a plan.

I’ve said on numerous podcasts, radio shows and at our events that we owe a lot of our growth, scaling and success to a group we’ve attached to called Elite Entrepreneurs. They’re terrific and help small businesses succeed. Attach yourself and your biz to something or someone who can guide you.
