The Power Of Marketing

The Power Of Marketing

This week continues the second week on my mini-series on skills. Today I’m going to talk about the second skill that has helped. That skill is the power of marketing and or generating leads.

Until I became very intentional and aware of this critical skill, my business always had issues with the deal flow because I didn’t have a consistent stream of opportunities coming through to make offers on.

Marketing is nothing too crazy except for the ability to bring in prospective customers through your sales funnel then have them go through a selective sales process (more on that next week).

When it comes to marketing, I am certainly not an expert yet however I did understand that once I committed to mastering the skill, things started to improve dramatically for me. In the beginning, the marketing I was doing was cheap advertising such as placing signs out on the street and having people call me because I didn’t have the money to pay for more streamlined mediums such as direct mail.

The key with marketing is that if you’re going to spend a dollar on any sort of marketing campaign you need to make sure that you are tracking your numbers so you can figure out what channels are working and what channels are not being productive so you can cut out the fat and only focus on the stuff that’s working.

I certainly have a long ways to go to become a true master in this area however my recommendation is that if you are getting into the real estate game especially, you must become a master at marketing to generate leads or else you’re going to have a very tough time staying relevant.

To end this post, my challenge to anyone reading this is that you need to identify whatever industry or niche you are in and then go figure out what are the top three skills that if mastered, will allow you to make the most progress. Once you find that out, go to work to become a master.
