Rehab Project - Preconstruction - Overview

Normal 1552083891 Storefront

Over the next couple weeks we will be blogging about a current rehab project that we have ongoing. It is a coach house on a property where we are house hacking. The property has 3 units on a oversize (30'x125') lot in Chicago its set up as a Duplex with a coach house in the back. The Coach house structure is over 100 years old and was a Convenience Store in its former life that was converted into a residence. The tenants recently moved out after living here for 15 years and “actively” used the house so there is significant wear and tear from the tenants and neglect from past landlords. The property has had known signs of water damage via a leaky roof which we found on a home inspection and was re-roofed right after we purchased the property. This unit is a great example of typical rehab work that can happen on old Chicago homes.

I look forward to taking you through the process and share real life examples of what could happen on a rehab project.
