Self-Storage: Getting things started...

Hi Everyone,

Please allow me a few words to introduce myself.  My name is Jason Stofer, owner of JGS Real Estate Investments. I started my real estate journey about 2 years ago. I have always been interested in real estate, however never really had the impetus to start.  That impetus came a few years back when my world was rocked, I got divorced.  Financially, broke and with a broken heart, I saw that my IT career wasn't going to cut it anymore. I have two great kids that are going to be off to college before I know it and work for money isn't the way to go.  I saw that the real wealth, the generational wealth was being created in real estate.  Where money was working for people, not people working for money. 

I have spent the last two year investing what little money and time I have into learning all I can about commercial real estate.  I made no bones about it, I have a lot more to learn but I am willing to put in the time and effort!  When I set my sights on something, there isn't much that can stop me, God willing. 

So, having told you a small portion of my story. Why am I starting this blog?

Well, for one there isn't much content on BiggerPockets about self-storage investing. And, in addition I am building a platform on which I can partner with the experienced real estate investors while gain passive investors.  All this to find, evaluate, acquirer, and asset manage self-storage properties, with the ultimate goal of becoming a passive investor in real estate myself and making my partners and passive investors positive returns on their investments. Lastly, I would like this blog to inspire more of  you to consider what I believe to be the best commercial real estate investment on the plant, self-storage!
