Paradise, here we come!

Just a quick introduction...Lexi and Tom here! She's a 5th-generation Floridian, born and raised along the beaches of Pinellas and Manatee Counties, an alumni of USF and a retired teacher. I'm a native of Ohio, a resident of Lakeland for over 30 years, an alumni of OSU and an environmental consultant.

At this writing, we're still in Lakeland, but it looks like we'll be hanging our hats along the beach  very soon. We're looking to ease into the world of REI with a multi-family property, and we're currently negotiating on an offer for a 4-plex in Madeira Beach. Occupying one of the units is a possibility, but we may purchase a single-family home in the area and manage the property from offsite.

We're both full of ideas and dreams to get "back in black" after years of paycheck to paycheck living and, in the short time that we've been BiggerPockets members, they've helped educate and motivate us to move forward with our plans. Hats off to @Brandon Turner for his informative webinars, and to the many members who have answered questions and given us valuable advice.

In our next exciting installment, I'll clue you in on the first deal we tried to do, a bay view duplex in Gulfport. Needless to say, it didn't go through, but we got a quick education on the topic of "Don't judge a book by it's cover!" Until next time, cheers!
