How to Pick Yourself Up After Hitting Rock Bottom

Normal 1559826314 A Lesson In Resiliency How To Pick Yourself Up After Hitting Rock Bottom

In life, anything can happen. While we can always get positive experiences along the way, nothing can prepare us from going through a storm of negativity. Hitting rock bottom is a difficult thing to recover from. You begin to ask yourself, “Will I ever be okay again?” Apparently, you will, as long as there’s a chance for you to get up again.

Fixing can be a difficult thing to pull off. However, there are ways that can help you overcome the feeling of defeat and prop yourself up for a chance at redemption. Here are a few ways you can recover after hitting rock bottom.

1. Accept and don’t complain

We always complain and demand an immediate answer to questions. As a result, we become in denial of a negative issue and blame it on others. Worse, we complain about the struggles we’re going. Instead of wasting energy on playing the blame game, we should take the time to accept the situation and move on from it. There’s no use lingering over something you just can’t change.

2. Reconnect with yourself

Self-rebuilding is a lengthy process. It also requires a lot of effort to accomplish. However, we always have a choice to revitalize ourselves and retrieve whatever it is we have lost. If the pressure is simply too much to bear, detach from the hindrances of life and be alone with yourself. You’ll realize that you have a lot of unfinished dreams you still need to accomplish. You’ll also discover the things you have missed out on. This will allow you to better understand your actual need for self-development.

3. Change your outlook in life.

Reflect and acknowledge everything that has happened, even if it caused pain and sorrow. From there, you can purge the ill feelings that you have and focus on nurturing a positive mindset. After all, your attitude can tell a lot about your perspective in life. Even if you have hit rock bottom, don’t think that things will never change for the better.

4. Have a concrete support group

When you have hit rock bottom, you will need all the support you can get to pull through. One thing’s for sure, you have your parents, friends, and mentors who can help you recover from your problems. At the end of the day, we just need someone to talk to and to motivate us to overcome depression and anxiety.

5. Do the things that make you smile

Doing what your heart desires every day will improve your personal outlook in life. This is a great help for those people who want to bounce back with a renewed vigor for life. Moreover, doing the things that make you happy will distract you from the things that are pulling you down. Whether it’s a hobby or a sport, you should be able to focus more on what you want so you can have the confidence to lead a normal life.

6. Let it pass through

Clearing your mind and releasing discouraging beliefs and emotions will allow for positive energy to pass through. Even though you've experienced hitting the rock bottom, cleansing your mind from negative emotions and beliefs will definitely guide you towards a more enlightening path.
