Natural, Keyword Rich Content
So this month, I’ve been focusing on developing my site (structure and SEO) and building backlinks.
Something that is starting to compound for me is keyword optimization on my blog posts. Originally, I just would put my main keyword in the blog post a couple of times and call it good. I was leaving so much on the table by doing this. I still am as I have 200 blogs that I have to go back through and re-optimize. So I’ve got a handful of topics that I write about, but let’s say I’m writing about selling a house during a divorce as a topic. I’ve got about 15 blog posts about this topic. All of these blogs posts link up to my “sell your house in divorce” topic page.
The old was I was keyword optimizing, I would only have 15 keywords that Google is seeing. The new way I’ve done it is I’ve researched the heck out of what my competitors are using, what Google suggests, and the high volume long tail keywords for this topic. I created a spreadsheet with all of my keywords listed with the associated monthly volume of these keywords.
Now when I go back and re-optimize my blog post, I add in keywords (naturally) everywhere that I can. Like, instead of just saying “pick a good agent,” I would say “find a local Georgia real estate agent from one of the top real estate companies in Atlanta.” I’m simply being more intentional about what I write. My keywords that are in this sentence are “local Georgia real estate agent,” “top real estate companies,” and “real estate companies in Atlanta.” If you consider Google’s LSI capabilities, I actually can claim that I have two more keywords; “local real estate agent” and “Georgia real estate agent.”
This is a huge difference from my original sentence, which has zero keyword capabilities. With 15 blog posts, throwing in natural, keyword rich sentences throughout my content will help me rank significantly higher on my We Buy Houses Atlanta real estate website (another keyword 😉)
