Future Value of Investments Calculator

The future value calculator automatically computes the future value of periodic monthly investments. This allows you to adjust a few parameters and determine the final value of your investment goal.

To use the calculator simply plug in;

  • an initial investment amount - the savings/investments you already have for your goal or the first amount you plan to invest towards your goal,
  • monthly addition - the amount you decide to put away each month toward your goal,
  • annual interest rate - 7% is typically a conservative estimate for the annual return on stocks, and;
  • number of years - how many years you plan to invest towards your goal.

After you have all the information hit compute. The future value will be calculated. If for whatever reason you aren't satisfied with the future value then adjust the parameters until you have the investment goal you desire.

Now that you know what your equal periodic investments will be worth, the final step is investing those equal payments into an avenue that gives you the rate of return (ROR) you have calculated. Click here to learn about the most common avenue.
