Gurus are dinosaurs leave your wallet at home

Hey BP! I love this space. Its the best place to learn and get educated.

Please note, all Gurus, I respect what you do, I know you have families to feed, and bills to pay, but do you really need to charge $12000 for an elite circle or $20,000 for Inner Circle Coaching? I have been in front of the master of all gurus, Ron Legrand. I even ate at his old restaurant on St. Augustine Road, so we could be a part of his master program, where he "reviewed deals" at $1,000 a month. Yeah, I got zero deals out of it, even bought into his VA program and that was a disaster as their VAs were not trained well enough to help students get deals closed, but its water under the bridge. Ron had expenses to pay for and eventually closed the restaurant. I can show you where it was.....

So those guys who build the systems, and the systems and the other systems, they complicate the heck out of real estate. This is an easy business with lots of moving parts. Help students out by keeping things simple. Coach students based on their deals. I'm willing to pay $500 for an hour of your time, but not $10,000 for systems I already have and stuff I'll never use. A good investor has a wall of books, tapes, and stuff from every guru out there. Some of it really bad, but its a way to remember that you took stuff from guru A and guru B and guru C and created your own solution.

The best people to learn from are those in your own backyard. Get to know who your competition is, they cant have all the properties and wont. They can share with you, they may even grow to like you, as they know who their competition is, instead of some "newbie" investing from 800 miles away. I love BP as I feel everyone is connected and in this day and age, there is NO REASON anyone should feel the need to help a REIA pay their bills by buying a guru's stuff. Ask us on BP, we will help you. Ideas and successes are not trademarked, ask away out here and keep your cash in properties and out of gurus hands.

Rant over - Jack
