How secure is real estate investing?

So you're thinking of investing in real estate but are concerned about how secure the investment is?  Debating between real estate investing and stocks?  Let's take a look at how secure it is to invest in real estate.

The first thing about real estate is that you are investing in an actual thing.  Stocks are not tangible, it's something that can be manipulated and the rates change hourly.  With real estate, you actually have a tangible asset.

The real estate marketing is so much more reliable than the stock market.  There will always be a need for housing.

Real estate can be both a long-term and immediate investment.  You can immediately start earning an income from rental properties as well as have the house with potential sale later.  Upgrades and such will build your home equity.

  1. I invest in both real estate and stock market and from over 15 years of experience in both types of investing. I am by no means an expert but I've been around. I noticed you were very light in discussion of stock investing which begs the question: how long did you invest in the stock market before forming your opinion?
