Uncomfortable Growth: Foundation Settling or Shifting Perspective

So, I've sat to write another blog posts a few other times in 2018.  Unfortunately or fortunately, I couldn't get out of my own way to communicate what was in my head.  So, I continued in the fog, in the haze.  I made my next best move but was unable to clearly explain why, how, or how my goals had shifted.  I tried to commit to the process.

So, where am I now?  In the beginning of 2018, I was focused on buying a small multi-family property in a college town and finding another local property to manage as a vacation rental.  Then, two weeks in to January my sister and bro-in-law signed me up to attend a LeeArnold event.  I hate the guru sponsored events and hate is not too strong of a word.  But these were the two people who could talk my language at Sunday dinners, Birthday celebrations, and Holiday gatherings. So, I went.

The event was basically a multi-day sales pitch sprinkled with nuggets like hands on experience negotiating  with a seller.  I spent the majority of the event on my computer and phone working on my goals for 2018.  Then, Gary Myers mentioned private lending brokering.

I love numbers. I am adverse to debt.  In all of my professional positions I've been the translator whether its between techies and business users or data analysis and business users.  The thought connected to my experience and who I was.  So, I listened and immediately began trying to adapt it.  So, I've spent the last 2 months not sure if I was sold a bill of goods, not happy with the model presented, and not sure if I was causing more problems for myself by blazing a trail rather than following the model.

Then last week I bought Crushing It! by Gary Vee and suddenly I am comfortable knowing and confident that blazing the trail and adapting the model is exactly what I'm suppose to do.
