Owning SFRs = a lot of work.

Well I call it an SFR, because that's what it was gonna be until the Norwegian government came in with new regulations, forcing us to sell the place.  In short, I live in Norway, and over here we have very strict regulations about your loan to asset value. So even if you have an investment property that will cashflow, they will compare how much debt you will own in comparison to the value of the property.

In any case we're in the process of selling my "SFR", and have spent the weekend washing and styling it for the open house we have on Tuesday. I think I've scrubbed the windows three times within the past two months because we've had both photographers and brokers come look at the place. The insides of the kitchen has been cleaned, along with all the appliances that will be sold with the apartment. In Norway, it's very common to have intergrated kitchen appliances (such as fridge, oven, dishwasher ect), and thus you gotta clean those as well, when you're selling.

I can't wait for the sale to go through so we can stop washing and start living again, hehe.

  1. Hi Ingrid!

Why did they force you to sell? And could you have done anything else instead?
