The First Post on the First Deals.

Hi,

and welcome to my brand new Biggerpockets blog, where I'll be teaching you everything I learn as I move along my real estate investing career. Sure, one can read everything in a book, but what does it look like in real life? My blog deals with that.

For those of you who haven't met me, I'm Ingrid, a half Norwegian, half American real estate investor from Norway (in Europe). I got started investing - or rather learning about investing - through a women's finance club at my college when I was in my early 20s. Back then I didn't understand anything about finance. I had hardly made a budget, was living off of a credit card (which I later luckily cut in two and threw in the trash), and had never heard about real estate investing. But, living as a poor student, I quickly discovered the power of frugal living - and of course, the Rich Dad Poor Dad book series.

Now, many years later I've done a couple of real estate purchases (only for my primary properties), and am looking to make my next deal a buy-and-hold investment property in Florida. How did it come to that? It's a longer story, which I won't share with you now. For now I just want to welcome you to my blog, and say that I look forward to seeing you here again for my weekly updates.

Best wishes,

Ingrid.
