Why is Connecting with Other Women So Good For Female RE Investors?

Several studies highlight how women are biologically wired to be around other women.

It's been found that women’s brains release oxytocin during sex, during breastfeeding, and when they are surrounded by other women. Typically known as the “bonding hormone”, Oxytocin helps us reduce stress and promote positive emotions.

We produce oxytocin when something makes us feel good, that way our brain lets us know that we need to repeat it. Nature has us wired to bond with our lovers, our babies, and other women.

In a UCLA study, scientists found that when men were stressed they tended to isolate themselves or react aggressively to the situation. Women, on the other hand, preferred to rely on others during stressful times. Women tend to gather together to share their feelings, commiserate, relax, and be with people, usually other women.

Getting together with other women is for us one of the healthiest and most effective forms to relieve stress. All that oxytocin we release when we are together makes us feel happier, calmer, more relaxed, more social, less anxious, and more focused.

An Emory study also found that women learn better when surrounded by groups of other women. Sisterhood is so good for women that our brains even work better when we are together!
