About the Author

Ever since Craig first heard about financial independence, the concept of a passive stream of recurring income fascinated him. He lived in Silicon Valley at the time, so naturally, he thought of one horrible business to start after another. Then, it hit him: He didn't have to do something that no one else has done before. Why not get into real estate, a tried and true wealth-building method? After six months of going down the rabbit hole of personal financial education, Craig got a job at BiggerPockets in Denver. He started his first house hack just two months after moving, and since then, he has purchased a second and third.

Craig is a frugality master: Besides sleeping on a futon in his living room and renting out his bedroom for a year, Craig also rented out his car, chooses to bike everywhere to save on gas, and loves travel points more than life itself. Craig is constantly searching for ways to optimize his life both in time spent and money saved, and he loves to share this information with other people in pursuit of financial independence.
